My first visit at AAMCO and I'm very pleased with the great service and competitive prices. Not only did I have my car's transmission serviced, but I was able to get the oil changed and battery replaced all at the same time. Friendly staff --including Beep-Beep, the office cat-- make it easy to give Athens AAMCO a five-star rating!
Awesome customer service! I am a UGA mom and live out of state and I worry about my daughter getting taken advantage of especially on something like auto repair. They made me comfortable on the phone right from the start. Their price was fair (my local mechanic said the price was fair), great job on repair and the customer service awesome. Stacey even texted me pics of bad parts and gave my daughter a ride back to school. I highly recommend AAMCO of Athens.

The staff at this AAMCO is amazing, and very nice. They definitely make sure to explain everything, and truly make you feel like you and your vehicle are in good hands. I called the day before to get my breaks replaced, and they had an appointment for me the next day. They are so kind. Also Beep Beep is a plus! He's a sweet as pie orange tabby cat, who'll come for pets as soon as you walk in the door. I definitely recommend this amazing company to anyone who needs their car serviced!
These guys are the best!!! I am a UGA parent from out of state and I had my son take his car to AAMCO based on their reviews. We took it in for what we thought was a transmission problem. As it turns out the engine had a misfire and just needed a tune up. I figured I had to take it to a different shop but they do total car care here. As an out of state parent I worry about my son getting taken advantage of but these guys were great to work with, honest and they kept me updated on the repairs. I highly recommend AAMCO Athens.
I found Aamco on google shortly after I moved here three year ago. I have used them for all my routine maintenance, like oil changes and tire rotations and it’s always been fantastic service. Last year they replaced my brakes and it was very straight forward with scheduling and a fair price when it was all done. And they have a very cute, Reddit famous cat, Beep Beep! 10/10 would recommend to everyone in the Athens area.

Friendly, courteous and helpful. I felt like they were honest and they gave me several options at various pricing levels for repairing or replacing a seriously damaged transmission. They replaced the transmission quickly and, so far, expertly. Also diagnosed and repaired an unrelated problem that I originally associated with the transmission problem. Highly recommend!
This place is excellent. They originally quoted me $2000 for my transmission and I was ready to pay that, when a mechanic found a way to fix it for $700 less. They could have totally ripped me off but they did not. The work is excellent and the staff is honest. i will be a customer for life.
I have a manual transmission and my clutch was slipping massively. I brought my car in for a free evaluation and the specialist there was able to quickly confirm my suspicions. They gave me a quick (and what turned out to be accurate) estimate and scheduled my car for the next business day. I was very happy with the updates that I received and the explanations for each issue that was discovered. All work was done in a timely manner and they ensured everything was running smoothly before returning it to me. My car has been performing excellently since the work was completed. I was very appreciative of the level of service and the friendliness of the staff! I would definitely take my car back to them again if / when needed. There is also the extra bonus of Beep-Beep who is the super chill shop cat. : )
My daughter has taken her car there twice now and the AAMCO people are as customer service focused as I have seen. Take care of the problem, they are up front with the issue and the cost of the repairs required, don't try to upsell you all kinds of "additional" services "nice to have" but not necessarily needed.
I had an excellent experience with Randal at Aamco Athens. I'm a woman, but I know more than most about engines (thanks dad), so I can always tell when a shop is trying to take advantage. This shop is not one of those places. They found a very hard to find part for my classic + rebuilt my transmission and the final bill was close to the price I expected to pay (I have mechanics in the family so I had a general idea). I'm so happy with Aamco as a company that I'll probably purchase the nationwide lifetime warranty. On a side note this garage notices the little things... a tech came out to help knock an old rusty bolt out of my tailgate & as I was pulling away, I noticed that they fixed my window crank. I wish this shop was in Atlanta.
Professional service at a reasonable price. Took my car in for extensive repairs on my engine and brakes. They made sure that the repair didn't take much of my time and effort. Communicated with me the type of repairs as well as the costs for them before deciding to do them... Their prices are honest to god reasonable. Checked the costs with my family who owns business similar to AAMCO but located up north and far from where I live in the South... They said the costs were about right and great. Both the mechanic and clerk kept me abreast of the repairs as to what have been done and the time frame. Even drove me to my teaching job.. Saved me the trouble of renting a car. Mind you, that was for a day until I got myself a rental car since the necessary repairs ran on for more than a day. Please bring your vehicles there for oil changes, repairs and even for honest reprisal of your car's condition/needs.

Took my car to a local transmission shop and they quoted me $2800 for transmission rebuild. I took it to AAMCO for second opinion. As it turns out I had a bad front axle $189. Thanks for your honesty AAMCO saved me $2600!

As of Monday November 12, 2012 this AAMCO located at 2120 West Broad Street in Athens, Ga. is under NEW Ownership and Management. They are now repainting and remodeling the inside of the store, but they are ready for your business. I know the Manager and he will make certain that your vehicle is serviced correctly and at a reasonable cost.
I started to freak out when my check engine light came on out of nowhere. Luckily I was close to Aamco who took my car in ASAP and got my Dodge Charge diagnosed for free. It was the knock sensor that needed to be replaced which is a lot better than other shops who would most likely come back and say it would be a huge expensive repair. Thanks for helping me out in my time of need.

The staff are very honest with their customers and tell it to them like it is. I brought in my car and they told me it would be a lot of work, but I really needed to get it fixed asap. So AAMCO fixed it quickly and ahead of time. They were even under the quoted price they initially gave me!
